In response to “support dancehall buy it on itunes”
By downloading and promoting these artists DJs/Selectors are getting the music much needed airtime, exposure and global support. It’s a good thing that you buy your music on i-tunes but its impracticle for myself and other DJs/Selectors to do so as we may only ever play the riddim once on air then delete it(after all who wants a hard-drive full of music they’ll never again play?)

As for producers pulling out of the game because of blog posts, I find that arguement a little weak as most of the producers I’m in contact with actively encourage the promotion of their music. I wish Chrome all the luck in the world in his next chosen occupation but imagine this to be an empty threat as he will be missing the plaudits and support of the reggae music scene

you really expect us to BUY all these tunes..man, that was 80′s and 90′s …
rip-off ting DONE …. if you MAKE music, make it WELL, so that people will feel GOOD buying it …. but if you put a riddim with FOUR good songs and over 10 mediocre junk, then be realistic and stop crying …
Good production on FOUR songs … the rest? blahhhhhhh

  • super bee

Big Ship fully loaded? Irresistable. The ONLY thing I don’t like is the tap tap intro which obiviously really don’t matter. Its definately ‘Smokin’,… like me when Babylon try fi test.

  • Kas

Bad riddim!!! In response to the “buy from itunes dont download bootleggs discussion i want to say that that game is over even if the old dominators of the music bizzniz trying to stop that developement. Now days artist are making their money on live shows and they are making more dough than than before on a tour at least here in europe. As for the producers i have to say that its just because of the same new times and the internet that all of this new young producers have had a break. Its no secret that the music industry and producers have been booth been ripping off artist and have had too much power over the industry making it hard for new talents to be heard. So booth producers and artist should just be happy and welcome all form of promotion of their artistic work. The only ones who shouldn be happy are those who are used to earn cash on other peoples artistic work.

And personally i dont even buy cds so I cant even imagine myself buying songs on itunes????
Vinyl records especially 7″ singles now thats an whole different story, but its hard to get new singles on vinyl in sweden nowdays so i have to adapt to the new times as well.

Kas & Demo got sense….We as Dj’s are the major form of advertising for Producers & Artists alike. Why would we pay a client for advertising for them? They should pay us for exposure..it’s an unwritten contract and we fulfill it every time we spin their brand, yet we are usually the last to get paid :) )))
